Coming Soon: Norris Hill Walking Trails
Elmcrest Farm is partnering with Local Cub Scout Troop (604?) to create a trail system throughout the farm's 20-acre wooded property. The trail system, dedicated to the question "What If Everyone Did That?", is a recreational hub for people who love to walk, explore nature, and learn about biodiversity and local flora and fauna.
What If Everyone Did That?
Deeply inspired by the books of similar names, "What If Everybody Did That?" by Ellen Javernick and "What If We Get It Right?" by Dr. Ayana Johnson, the Norris Hill Walking Trails asks adults and children alike what it would be like if everyone threw litter on the ground? Picked leaves off trees? Scared the wildlife?
Conversely, the trails explore the concept of what it would be like if everyone left nature better than they found it, if everyone saved a caterpillar crossing a trail, and if everyone started to learn about their local plants and animals, as well as the natural cycles of the earth.
Biodiversity, personal responsibility, and a connection to local flor and fauna are centered on these beautiful walking trails.
The trail head for the Norris Hill Walking Trails is located on Route 202, about a mile past Highmoor Farm on the right, going north.
